At the onset of the main spawning period, a large number of grass frogs have gathered in a shallow pond for reproduction. They congregate in a small area in which a large number of egg masses have already been deposited. Single undisturbed males give mating calls, others, influenced by conspecific males, react with territorial calls. The final scenes show pairs in amplexus. The coupling male produces territorial calls whenever the female moves.
