English | English The film first demonstrates the organization and the locomotion of adult females of the Archiannelid Dinophilus gyrociliatus. In the following scenes the movement of the cilia and of the pharyngeal bulb is shown in animals feeding on a suspension of Dunaliella. Then, a female is seen shedding its eggs, the gelatinous cocoon of which is swelling strongly. Females are developing from large eggs; they are still within the cocoon when copulation takes place between them and the males developing from the small eggs of the same cocoon. In the end the organization of a dwarf male is demonstrated. |
