English | English With the help of a special experiment stand for hot drawing experiments on metals with microscopic observations of the test surface at the same time, a high-heat proof nickel alloy was examined at temperatures of 20, 200, 400, 600, 800 and 1000° C. Besides the grain boundary flow which was also clearly visible here at temperatures of about 600° C, the so-called "Portevin-Le Chatelier-Effect" can be observed in the microscopic pictures at temperatures of between 200 and 400° C. It is concerned with irregular flowing of the grains alternating between deformation and aging which becomes visible as a swinging movement of the test pieces. The width of field is 200 µm. |
