This film shows a fight between two males of the Tilapia zillii species. The rivals have aggressive colouring and assume an impressive posture: the fins are spread out wide. They swim parallel to each other and lash out with their tails. The fish then circle round each other, and ramming blows are aimed at gill-flaps and sides. In the next phase the mouth is brought into play, whereby the rivals bite each other and each tries to push the other along in front of him. After the fight, the loser hurries away, his fins drawn in flat to the body.
