Abstract |
Dinoflagellat.
Dinoflagellate. Ectoparasitic feeding on the eggs of the copepod Pseudocalanus elongatus (sucking out the eggs holozoically by a sucker organ). Vegetative reproduction (sporogenesis): formation of primary cyst, giving rise to 4, 8, 16 and 32 cells, differentiation of secondary cysts, giving rise to 16 or 32 dinospores of Gymnodinium type, release and swarming of dinospores.
