Abstract |
The plant transports water in the conducting bundles of the xylem from the ground to the leaves (fascicular flow). It is transported through the cell membrane to the epidermis by the osmotic and imbibitory forces. (extrafasc. flow). The individual water transport phases are demonstrated in touch-me-not, rye and Helxine using fluorescent dyes.
