Abstract
The film shows three different ways in which the Kwoma employ painting techniques: painting on flat surfaces, i.e. the flattened bases of sago-palm leaf-stems, chip-carved wooden shields and three-dimensional carvings. The painters are respected men and artists, who will be seen working alone, in pairs and with younger men.
