Abstract Ein Grünspecht im Jugendkleid pickt auf morschem Holz. An einem seitlich geöffneten, morschen Strunk sieht man, wie die wurmförmige Zunge vordringt, nach dem Ertasten von Ameisenpuppen diese "anleimt" und sich wieder zurückzieht.
A woodpecker, still immaturely feathered, pecks at rotten wood. At a sidways opened decayed stump one sees how the wormlike tongue penetrates and after feeling ant pupae, "glues" these and withdraws.
