Abstract Eichhörnchen bauen innerhalb ihres Reviers Nester. Baumaterialien sind u. a. zerfaserter Bast und Gras. Das Nistmaterial wird mit den Pfoten gesammelt und ins Maul gesteckt. Damit es besser getragen und auch ins Nest eingebaut werden kann, wird das Material zu einem Ballen geformt.
The film documents the behaviour of the squirrel Sciurus vulgaris when collecting and carrying nestmaterial. Within their territories squirrels construct nests made e. g. from shreded bast and gras. The material is collected with the paws and pushed into the mouth. For easier transport the material is shaped to a ball.
