SCF calculations for the potential curves and the charge densities of H2O were carried out in order to obtain a theoretical description of the behaviour of the rotating and swinging water molecule. The cartoon film demonstrates the degrees of freedom of this system, its normal modes and the specific heat as a function of the temperature.
