The development of the sugar beet nematode on seedling roots of rape (Brassica napus) in aseptic agar culture is shown in detail: penetration of the larvae into the root cells; further development within the root cells over several molts to female or to male; giant cell system as location of feeding during the development; copulation; hatching of the larvae.
