Für die Ausgangsfunktion f(x) = 1:(1+x²) wird der Approximationsprozeß in computergezeichneten Phasen dargestellt. Zunächst werden Interpolationspolynome und Splinefunktionen mit äquidistanten Stützstellen verwendet, später erfolgt die Polynominterpolation an Tschebyscheff- Punkten. Ein Vergleich zeigt, daß Spline-Funktionen bei erhöhtem Rechenaufwand deutlich bessere Näherungen liefern.

For the test function the approximation process is shown in computerized phases. At first interpolation polynomes and spline functions are used with equidistant samples, later polynome interpolation takes place on Tschebyscheff points. A comparison shows that spline functions supply clearly improved approximation with increased computation.
