The film shows in time-lapse exposures the peculiar characteristics of HeLa cells in vitro. In addition to normal interphase cells and normal mitoses, cell anomalies can be seen: multipolar divisions, multinucleated daughter cells, unequal distribution of nuclear and cytoplasmatic material in the course of the telophase, and formation of giant cells.
