Abstract Spanentstehungsprozeß an einer polierten, angeätzten Probe beim Orthogonalschnitt. Mit zunehmender Spanungsdicke erhöht sich die Gleichmäßigkeit des Schervorganges und der Fließspanbildung. Einfluß der Spanungsdicke auf die Bildung von Aufbauschneiden.
The film shows how chippings are formed during orthogonal cutting from a polished and etched testing workpiece made of casehardening steel 16MnCr5. The individual areas and stages of flowing chip formation are worth watching well in this markedly ferrito-perlitic structure. As the chip thickness increases, the formation of flowing chip becomes more regular, that is, the shearing deformation, chipping-structure and chipping-profile are clearer and more even. The variation in thickness of the chippings also affects the formation of pick-up on the cutting edge.
