English | English Machining process during the turning of vulcanised fibre type Vf 3110 with carbide tipped tools. The work sample is machined longitudinally and vertically under normal conditions with various cutting speeds and machining thicknesses. The process is filmed both at normal speed and under magnification in slow-motion. This material displays very unfavourable machinability characteristics, irregular shape of chips and smudgy surfaces due to the breaking-off of chips; in addition, chip formation is greatly influenced by the lamina position in relation to the cutting direction. |
