A female blackbird settles into the nest and, after a while, rises slowly with opened beak. After the eggs have been layed, her head disappears for a short time in the hollow of the nest. The female then returns to sitting in the nest. She subsequently pushes the eggs aside, settles down in the nest and begins brooding. While brooding, the female blackbird carefully observes her surroundings or sleeps with closed eyes. She changes her position in the nest again and again.
