Climbing, jumping and eating of the koala or "native bear" (Phascolarctos cinereus). By the way of "stride-trotting" young and older koalas climb up trunks and branches moving alternatively fore- and hindlegs. By means of the prehensile clamps of their forelegs koalas draw near boughs of eucalyptus-trees and eat the leaves of them. Koalas prefer forked branches as resting places as they give additional support to their backs.
