Vorgestellt wird ein Patient mit beidseitiger Unterarmamputation und Muskeltunnelierung nach Sauerbruch, bei der an Beuge- und Streckseite des Unterarmstumpfes je ein Hautkanal gebildet wird. Dieses Verfahren erlaubt dem Patienten, seine Muskelkraft auf eine bewegliche Prothese zu übertragen. Der Film zeigt ausführlich, wie der Patient die Prothesen selbst anlegt und einige Alltagstätigkeiten allein ausführt.
