Englisch | Englisch The film shows the temperature pattern in the sheet cross-section during spot-welding of 2 and 3 mm thick deep-drawn sheet. Welding electrodes with varying crowning radii and tapered electrodes with 140° and 90° cone angles are used with various contact pressures. In order to show the cross-section of the weld nugget, welding is done at the sheet edge with halved electrodes. The temperature at the sheet edge is indicated by the vaporizing of electro-deposited layers of copper, cadmium or zine. The welding, completed in 0.4 seconds, is shown in 120-fold slow-motion effect. |
