Japanaffe.

Japanese macaques (Macaca fuscata) in a colony on Koshima Island, Kyushu, separate wheat from sand by a flotation process and wash sand from sweet potatoes in small pools and streams at the beach where they are fed. Not all of the monkeys in the small colony exhibit this behaviour, however, the behaviour appears to spread from skilled to unskilled and from mothers to the young.
