Die Reihenfolge beim Backen in dem Gemeindebackofen wird jeweils dienstags durch Auslosung bestimmt. Der Teig wird zu Hause am Vorabend des Backtages aus einer Mischung von Weizen- und Roggenmehl, Wasser und Sauerteig angesetzt. Vor dem Kneten am Backtag kommen Kümmel, Salz und warmes Wasser hinzu. Außer den Broten werden auch Zwiebelkuchen gebacken.
