The movie shows the various forms of treat and fighting, which help to establish and maintain the social hierarchy within the flock. Upright, threat-neck (threat-posture restpectively; both types frequently accompained by trill), and strut (which also occurs as courtship display) are behavioural acts, used to threaten conspecifics. The hierarchy seems too be maintained by the T-ritual: the tom approaches a lower ranking male and performs the T-movement, and tries to force him to leave or to face away. Fights start frequently from a situation, in which a lower ranking tom does ot accept the initimidation, and threatens. Gobbling occurs commenly in this situation. The actual fight starts with jumping: one torn triess to strike his opponent on his back; in case of success the one struck gives up. If, however, the opponents jumps also, the fight continues, interrupted only by episodes of threat-neck or threat-posture, both start pecking at the nakeed skin at the ground, or to push each other. This wrestling match lasts for some time (minutes to hours), and is fought with great physical strength and endurance, until one gives up. the victor usually persues the defeated one strutting, or giving the T-ritual. Behavioral elements shown in this movie: ngg, trill, gobbling, T-display, yelp, struct-posture, strut, threat, jumping, pecking, wrestling, and treading in vacuo.
