Abstract
The 3rd Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF) hosted a multi-faceted session riveted on Big Data and revolving around the challenges produced by computational science. During the panel discussion, the speakers and workshop presenters took the stage with the moderator of the Hot Topic. Selected young researchers introduced the results from each workshop to set the tone for the following debate. All aspects of the session, from presentations to workshops, culminated in the discussion as the audience posed questions to the panel. Participants: Michele Catanzaro (Host of the Hot Topic at the 3rd HLF) Kristin Tolle (Microsoft Research Outreach) Alessandro Acquisti (Carnegie Mellon University) Jeremy Gillula (Electronic Frontier Foundation) Ciro Cattuto (ISI Foundation) Megan Price (Human Rights Data Analysis Group) Peter Y.
