Cnidoblasten bewegen sich aktiv (amöboid) oder passiv (Strömung der Gastralflüssigkeit) vom Bildungsort in den Rhizostolonen zum oralen Tentakelkranz. Bei Ausbildung von Hydranthenknospen erfolgt eine gerichtete Bewegung.

The film firstly show the organisation of the hydroid colony of Dipurena reesi (Athecatae, Corynidae) and the capture of prey. It follows the locomotion of the cnidoblasts in the rhizostolons, and the influence of the hydranth bud on the direction of migration. The last part of the film shows at higher magnification the amoeboid movement of the cnidoblasts.
