The membrane system of the endoplasmatic reticulum (ER) seperates the intracisternal phase from the extracisternal one. In the protoplasmic wall layer of a tissue culture cell, tube-shaped and vacuole-like ER elements move in the plasma low; plasticity, dissolution and fusion of ER elements.
