Contractions of the lymphatic vessels in the mesenterium of the guinea-pig. Particularly examined are those lymphatic vessels displaying dilations, termed lymph cisterns, with several inosculating lamph tracts. The lymph tracts are split into segments, separated from one another by flexible valves. We are shown the lymph transport by means of the coordinated action of these valve segments.
