Trichoplax adhaerens F. E. Schulze is a flat, flagellated organism, with its systematic position at the basis of Metazoa. At first, the film shows the last phase of binary division. Both daughter animals are still connected by a thread which finally breaks in two. The budding leads to the formation of a free-swimming "swarmer". "Swarmers" of various size and form are presented.
