Research data management in the context of open science and good scientific practice
This video series from Leipzig University Library introduces six key topics in research data management (RDM). The videos can be used flexibly according to a modular principle: individually, in custom combinations, or as a sequential learning pathway, depending on requirements. They cover interdisciplinary and long-term aspects of RDM. Each topic addresses typical scenarios or challenges encountered in research practice and conveys key content, recommendations for action and tips in an accessible manner, using illustrative elements and animations. The first topic is covered by four videos which provide an introduction to research data management in the context of open science and good scientific practice. They highlight the challenges posed by a lack of openness in data and demonstrate the need for a shift in mindset towards transparent research. They also show that responsible research data management is crucial to the implementation of good scientific practice.
