Ein Schwarzspecht klettert zu seiner Bruthöhle. In der geöffneten Höhle liegen noch unbefiederte Junge, die der Altvogel mit dem Schnabel berührt, bis sie mit gestrecktem Hals und offenem Schnabel suchende Bewegungen machen. Sie werden dann gefüttert und anschließend gehudert.
A black woodpecker climbs to its nest hole. Unfeathered young lie in the open hole which the parent bird touches with the beak until these make searching movements with stretched necks and opened beaks. They are then fed and brooded, until the other parent appears to start feeding.
