Abstract
Together we will investigate what “high resolution” means by working through the specifications of a “truly” hyperspectral satellite. The primary aim is to explain the methodology starting at instrument level to illustrate the data chain of how absorption lines result in a better understanding of the distribution and variability of trace gas species relevant to air quality and climate change. A short data interactive module will be presented to tie together the lecture.
