We continue the survey of defective and clustered colorings of minor-closed classes of graphs of graphs, focusing on the techniques and conjectures. The discussed techniques include: islands, separators, decompositons of graphs in minor closed classes into graphs of bounded treewidth, and linear decompositions of graphs of bounded treewidth.
