Abstract
In his seminal paper on his "Jones polynomial homology," Khovanov identifies Floer homology as one of the underlying motivations for his work. In the 20 years since then, the connections between Khovanov homology (broadly interpreted) and Floer homology have been a fruitful topic for research, but there is still much that remains mysterious. I'll describe some of our successes at understanding the relations between the two theories over the last 20 years, and speculate on where things may go in the next 20.
