Abstract
Prof. Frauke ECKE is Professor of Ecology at University of Helsinki, Finland. For more than 20 years, she has been working on rodent and disease ecology. Her special interests are environmental drivers of pathogen transmission. She is the coordinator of the Horizon Europe project BEPREP (Identification of best practices for biodiversity recovery and public health interventions to prevent future epidemics and pandemics) that is running 2022-2027. At the 2023 MOOD Scientific Conference, she went over the topic of Rewilding – mitigating or amplifying zoonotic disease risk. After her session, she kindly agreed to grant an interview to WP6 MOOD communication experts.
