Abstract
WebRTC was obviously popular with developers during the peaks of the pandemic, but how is it doing now? Did all those new projects die, putting the community back at pre-pandemic “normal” levels or is WebRTC still going strong? Are there many new WebRTC-related repos? Is WebRTC still attracting new users and what are they doing? How are newer API’s like Insertable Streams, WHIP, and WebCodecs doing? In this talk, Chad Hart of webrtcHacks and Kranky Geek will answer these questions with a fresh analysis based on a review of over a million GitHub events since 2019.
