Abstract
Globoturborotalita rubescens (Foraminifera, Rotaliida, Globigerinina, Globigerinidae), diameter of shell 180 µm, Lanzarote 3.2022. 2:04 min. The planktic species of Foraminifera possess several chambers in coiled arrangement, adult planispiral, bilaminar wall of calcite, also containing magnesium. Species with spines (spinose) and globose chambers, the last whorl coiling, spines round or triangular. Shell and spines covered by cytoplasm, this also forms a pseudopodial network which contains chrysophytic symbionts. G. siphonifera mainly hunts for copepods.
Keywords
