Carcinus maenas (Crustacea, Malacostraca, Decapoda, Pleocyemata, Brachyura, Portunidae), megalopa larva, width 5 mm, Helgoland 08.2020. 0:32 min. Megalopa is a name for postlarval transition stages of decapods. It develops from the zoea and shows a broad carapax. They are able to swim, using the pleopods and settle on the ground. The complex eyes are comparatively big. Video can be used for teaching.
