Abstract
This video addresses some fundamental developments in higher education financial management. For example that diversification of universities' financial resources is increasing. Financing strategies of universities must take these developments into account and be prepared for new challenges in financial management. Traditional financing models are reaching their limits. To illustrate this, various problems of traditional financing models are highlighted and an alternative is proposed in form of the "performance-based management". Using the 3-pillar model as an example, it is shown how performance-based management can be incorporated into university financing strategies and what advantages this offers.
