Abstract
In the past few years, the development of container application technology has advanced by leaps and bounds. But for people who want to enter a containers word still hard for them. Most of people stop at the first step that use Kubernetes to setup environment. As a opsnSUSE user I’m glad we have openSUSE Kubic. I would like to share people who frustrated to build container. All they should do are use openSUSE Kubic. They need new tools that make them easy to set up cluster and maintain. OpenSUSE Kubic is great platform to run containers and to learn how to containerize. Hope through my experience of use Kubic can share it for people who want to join open source and containers word. There always have a best way to help you management your IT infrastructure and work smart.

Hello, everyone. I'm Ken Lin from Open Source Taiwan community. I'm a new member who just joined to the community for more than one year.
So this is my first topic, talking communities in Open Source community. So I'm lucky guys who came and saying Open Source community invited me to here. And let's start my topic. It's about why you should choose Open Source Kubeic.
And it's for the opportunity beginner enter to the container land. So everybody can relax for the topic. And first motivation to use Kubeic is for people who just want to know or use Kubernetes but don't know, don't want to play Kubernetes the hard way.
I think 80% people, if they don't have container background or knowledge, they will fulfill or give up while setting up Kubernetes. And second is for native English user.
You know, it's still not enough information in Chinese. As I know, a lot of IT latest information will translate to Japanese and French immediately but not in Chinese. And for people who are unfamiliar with command line but now you don't worry about that,
you can use Open Source Kubeic Wiki and they have everything step by step and you can follow the picture and you can have a cluster and everybody have a cluster easily. So it's my outline of today's topic.
First, what's the topic, Kubeic and why Kubeic and start Kubeic easy way and QA. First, what's the Kubeic? So yesterday I have an amazing talk about Kubeic. I think everybody knows basic about Kubeic so I have a short interview about Kubeic.
Kubeic is a project of Open Source, founded in May 2017 and focused on container knowledge and based on Tumbler-Wing learning release and various upstream coding, Kubernetes and programming and QA.
And container service platform based on Kubernetes atop Open Source and open source is a model for Linux operation system designed for container host and optimized for large deployment. Okay, it has Tumbler-Wing and CAST and so surely if you favor to use Tumbler-Wing
and you want to use container, Kubeic is your best choice. And why Kubeic? If you think Kubeic is very quick to use and you recommend your friend to use but they
say no thanks, we are busy. First you should explain two things about Kubeic for them. First is container. What's a container and what's microservice? Container is containerized everything that you can build, ship and run everywhere and
every environment. And architecture like Kubernetes can manage container in easy way. And microservice is a general application consistent with multiple component service. It's hard to know, right?
So besides the not staying application, the supply chain has changed. Now, dev development and operation, you should deploy your container or environment more faster.
And all these traditional monoliths are traditionally face the problem. That's why monoliths operation do not meet our requirement. And VM has significant resource and management overhead. It's hard to control the traditional architecture.
So you can choose microservice of creation. Not do one thing and do it well. But not every people thought about microservice. If you give your baby for use microservice, they don't know how to play microservice.
So microservice is microservice plus container and many small focused container that make your first KTH service that can well define application and in pagan language library you can build your own container very faster.
And modular, easy maintenance and reuse. And they have provided for tolerance and scale out ability for you. So it's easy setting up a cluster so should maintain it as well.
Now you can, your friends know about kubectl so they think they are lucky to use kubectl. Okay, let's start a little brief about kubectl. Before install, you should have a bad mentor like x86 and 64 or ARM machine.
And download the kubectl ISO from kubectl Wiki or internet. The ISO is less than 2GB. And it requires just 2 CPU and 2GB memory and 30GB mini hardware.
It's very small. And we are installing kubectl system certified Kubernetes stack. Coming using Kubernetes on top of microservice system. And it's easy range just like you install tumbling.
First install and choose next. And choose kubectl node and all default and choose your password. And it's default to use. And when you build the kubectl you should have installed two or more system with open-source kubectl.
And you can follow the kubectl wiki step by step. And enter this command line kubectl idm int and you can get the token. And your masternode is building successfully.
And some setup like long following us before your masternode setup. And setup the network of your masternode is easy.
And you can copy the token from the masternode and pass to your step node. And you can have two nodes to measure. And you can use kubectl control get node and you can have masternode and step node.
It's easy, right? And if you want more information about kubectl, they have a lot of information about blog and github and chat. You can follow their work. And it's lighting, folks. Thank you so much and enjoy kubectl.
Thank you.
