EPITA, a French school of engineers in computer science, is bringing NixOS to its students. Here is a presentation of the challenges of maintaining an infrastructure of more than 800 machines used by students. The presentation will start with a current state of our learning infrastructure running on Arch Linux, the challenges we face with it, the up- and downsides of migrating to NixOS and what has already been done.
