Abstract
This visualization of a simulation by the Whole-Atmosphere Community Climate Model, version 6 (WACCM6) is a supplement to the research article "Upward transport into and within the Asian monsoon anticyclone as inferred from StratoClim trace gas observations" submitted by Marc von Hobe and co-authos to the Copernicus Journal "Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics". The video contains a series of four animations of the horizontal distribution of Carbon Monoxide (CO) in the Asian Summer Monsoon (ASM) anticyclone between 27 July and 10 August 2017 at four pressure levels (150, 100, 85 and 70 hPa, with the four animations placed in that order). CO mixing ratios are represented by color according to the color bar (note the reduced scale at the 70 hPa level). Also shown are horzontal winds (white arrows) and geopotential height (GPH, black contour lines). Further information regarding the detailed WACCM6 model setup and the scientific context is found in the research paper.
