this uh farm equipment
then we can have the shape file and the GPS interact with each other to turn on and turn off on that particular piece of equipment or whatever may be and I'm going to focus here on looking at about sprayers but the but it's expensive technology we're looking at uh at least least the 5 to 10 thousand dollars to get into configuring your equipment with GPS and with it calls a GPS guidance system so that you know where in the field and have an interface dealt with valves or of and if you're planning sees that the boxes and things of that sort so it's very expensive and what I'm trying to do here this come up with some that the

blind insecticide the on the typically do a blanket coverage because if you try to explain 1 little area here you might kill some insects but insects near Byron become sober insects because dropping to develop a tolerance so trying to really control where that hot placements occurring well I'm referring to this project here that I'm working on as of phase and with a GPS guidance system the most basic piece of equipment that of farmers can use and if you look at the field here this is cotton field that's not snow out there but but I have a very defined roles so I can see where I'm going model process field and when I come back around I can count line of the rules but the for cattle farmers with partial and you don't have those landmarks up there and you get something like this that using appearance during so of free of those you have again not from

Abstract Little open source software finds its way into commercial agriculture and, yet, has the potential to reduce production costs for small farm operations as well as diminish potential harmful impacts on the environment in and around crops. Improving the efficiency of applying herbicides and pesticides can be brought about with improved control of sprayer operation.Row crop agriculture relies upon effective control of weeds and insects while minimizing impact on the environment and the farmer's budget. Using GPS to guide agricultural sprayers through the field can reduce chemical treatments by controlling the position of the sprayer to eliminate overlapping applications or leaving gaps between passes through the field.Commercial GPS guidance systems are economically out of reach for many small farm operations. An open source option has been developed for under 250 to reduce the investment to retrofit sprayers. The sprayer controller system takes advantage of over the counter electronic components and utilizes Python to encourage a larger audience of developers to participate in enhancing the current product.Minimizing the use of agricultural chemicals, along with responsible land management practices, can cut costs to farmers in both time and purchase of herbicides and pesticides. Providing an open architecture for applications to aid small farms in crop management will also benefit responsible stewardship of the natural environment.
