Abstract
German

The film shows various social interactions between small children and the author as the "stranger". The 6 months old infant Babanda does not shy away at the first contact and does not reject him. He smiles and even shows true and quite distinct seeking behaviour. During this he performs clearly expressed fast eyebrow-raising as an affirmation, as "yes" to the social contact. This sequences shot in 1975 are the first documentation of this behaviour pattern in infants. In relation to contact seeking and eyebrow-raising often open-mouth-display is shown. Rejection of strangers is demonstrated by turning the head away and by avoiding eye contact. If one touches such a child, this often causes resolutions of protest actions and protest crying.
