Prenatal control. Labour contractions in this patient do not start spontaneously after rupture of the fetal membranes. It is therefore decided to induce labour by an oxytocin infusion. Uterine contractions and fetal heartrate are recorded synchronously (CTG). In addition the film shows the behaviour of the parent during the delivery. The course of labour is without complications or medical management: there is no anaesthesia and no episiotomy. At the end the parents and their 3-month baby are seen at home while suckling.
