Die Kreißende wird im Menstruationshaus von Calap von ihrer Mutter unterrichtet. Die Geburt erfolgt am nächsten Tag im Freien in Hockstellung, wobei die Frau sich an Stöcken festhält. Das Kind, das mit einseitiger Klumpfußmißbildung geboren ist, wird nach etwa 1 ¾ Stunden in Bananenblätter eingewickelt und von der Mutter auf den Armen in das Menstruationshaus getragen. Die Abnabelung erfolgt kurze Zeit später.
