English | English Two men uncover a root of the camelthorntree and from it cut a straight piece. One of the men removes all the root "eyes", debarks both ends and slightly whittles down the diameter of the wood. In a prepared hot bed of sand he buries and roasts the root. With a spray of water he cools and shrinks its bark. By pounding the end of the free wood on a log he finally succeeds in slipping the bark tube off the stem. He seals one end of this tube with a wet gemsbok scrotum and reinforces it with evenly spaced loops of sniew, which prevents the quiver from cracking. |
