| English | English The making and assembly of an arrow, consisting of point, sleeve, link-shaft and reed-shaft is shown. First the tip is forged from a piece of fencing wire and shaped with a file. The reed-shaft, already cut to size, is then reinforced at both ends. A small reed is shaped into a sleeve, and reinforced with sinew. The shaft of the tip is wrapped with sinew and then glued into the sleeve. The sleeve is placed onto the link-shaft and is assembled with the reed-shaft. The shaft of the tip is then coated with a poison compound mixed in the poison mortar. It consists of haemolymph of Diamphidia simplex larvae and the juice of a tuber as glue. |
