Auf einem Tanzplatz im Dorf Tialo-Ibeda tanzen Frauen und Männer jeweils paarweise um ein aus fünf verschieden gestimmten Flöten, einer Rassel, drei verschiedenen Trommeln sowie zwei kultischen Blasinstrumenten bestehendes Orchester.

In principle all age groups may take part in the kaltumandasa-dance, but as the dance requires a high degree of effort it is mostly danced by the younger people. The dance is danced in couples, i. e. a man and a woman hold each other by their hands. The orchestra consists of five flutes of different pitch, one rattle and three drums.
