In front of a building of the Sultan of Mao, the six musicians of the court orchestra lay a melody in honour of the Sultan. The principal instrument of the orchestra is an oboe called algaita. To play the algaita the player blows up his cheeks and takes a provision of air which allows him to play the long melody without intermission. The second wind-instrument of the orchestra is a long tuba called gaschi, made from plate. The tones of the instruments of the orchestra are four different drums, beaten with wooden drumsticks or with the hand. The musicians are dressed in the typical clothes worn by the male Muslims in Chadian towns. The film only presents an excerpts from the piece of music.
