In kochendes Wasser wird zunächst ein Teil des Mehls eingerührt, dann folgt gemahlene, gekeimte Hirse und das restliche Hirsemehl. Nach dem Quellen des Teiges werden die Fladen auf einer Tonplatte gebacken.

Only a few women among the Diongor in Chad are skilled in making millet flat cakes, which are made exclusively from Pennisetum. These cakes are generally made for sale; only the unsold will be eaten by the people themselves, for flat cakes are considered a fancy dish. The entire process of making these cakes is shown here.
