good afternoon everybody so this explosive rise 2014 is awarded for the 7th time and the winner will receive 750 euros and of course our recognition of standing out of more than 4 I almost 400 posters and the but also means that for us it's a challenge to pick out that 1 poster of 400 and to tackle this almost impossible task we use a two-step procedure we had a comity 9 members and 1 member for each of the fields and of the posters as these members went around in the poses in the field they looked at them to talk to the people and evaluated them and from there and they selected the 2 best posters for each as field so I let me at this point I think the people listed here from the Committee for the tremendous amount of work that's done here and they looked at different aspects of the posters the Valez evaluated them with respect to the scientific quality and the explanation of the research and the results on the poster and the layout and design of course and the oral exposition so from there we created a shortlist of 18 posters and then the posted price jury it we see here on the right and the soft that tries to select the top of the toll which is a very difficult task indeed and we came up with the 3 best posters and these people are nominated for the post surprise Our 1st nominee as says Stephanie on some for posted spending 24 orders of magnitude with the white wire and he presented improvements of the ocean engineering radio right away they measure megahertz radio emissions from cosmic rays induce showers and the comedy mentioned that he had a very clear well-structured explanation and an attractive layout and very interesting assaults as well as an extremely clear and just enthusiastic explanation of his results then 2nd nominee is the animator Meyer From you changed she has presented a post on the crystallization of colloidal cubes and studied the structures using microscopy and X-rays and with respect to a new materials and and the committee rights such as it's a challenging experiment yet she gets interesting results and chic even came up with an interest in the easy to interpret presentation of a complicated data and opposes very clear and she explained in a few minutes in very well at the Ames the experiments the results and even the applications of research and the 3rd nominee in several temple he from cloning and using numerical simulations he proposed an experimental means directly result spatial coherence in time and which is of relevance for up to electronica devices the committee writes that it's an interesting research explained in very clear steps and his post draws the attention to the focus of his research and he has a very original and effective design you can judge yourself and a pleasant to look at poster with an enthusiastic speaker so to summarize we have 3 nominees Stephanie on some as young army commander and rule and out comes the most exciting moment of course but before we get there I would like to have already congratulate these 3 people for both fall making amazing posters and with this is is my honor to sustain that and oppose prize goes to Will Temple Liu so

Abstract Physics@FOM Veldhoven is a large congress that provides a topical overview of physics in the Netherlands. It is organised by the Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter (FOM) and takes place each year in January. Traditionally, young researchers are given the chance to present themselves and their work alongside renowned names from the Dutch and international physics community. The programme covers Light and matter, Atomic, molecular and optical physics, Nanoscience and nanotechnology, Statistical physics and Soft condensed matter, Surfaces and interfaces, Physics of fluids, Subatomic physics, Plasma and fusion physics, and Strongly correlated systems. In 2014 there were about 400 poster presentations.
